Directory Structure on Linux

This article discusses directory structure in Linux .

Indexes and their meanings:

/binThere are executable executable files belonging to the user and system administrator.
/etcConfiguration files are included.
/devDevice information such as CDROM, HDD, Partition is available.
/procThere is information about the processes, for example, in the CPU kernal.
/varLog messages, system logs, logs of 3rd software.
/usrShared files and user files are included.
/homeThe users' files are located.
/bootKeeps the files that the operating system installed at the time it starts to run, if it is corrupted, the operating system becomes corrupted
/libLibrary files.
/optEdom applications are found.
/mntThe mountable directory appears as the port for devices that connect to the system.
/mediaThe External disk connected to the system shows the USB directories.
/srvThe directory where the service files are located.
/tempThe directory where the temporary files are located.
/Root is the root directory.
NOTE:The Root user and the Root directory are different things.
