Send Outlook future mail

This article explains how to send Outlook future mail.

Delay delivery of a message

  1. During the composing of the message, select the More options arrow from the Labels group on the Ribbon.
    Select More Options to set a delivery delay.
  2. Under Delivery options, select the Don't deliver before this date check box, and then select the delivery date and time that you want.
    Set a date and time to deliver your message.
  3. Click Close.
  4. When you've finished composing your e-mail message, select Send.

After you click Send, the message remains in the Outbox folder until delivery time.

If you later decide that you want to send the message immediately, do the following:

  1. Switch to the Outbox folder.
  2. Open the delayed message.
  3. Select the More options arrow from the Tags group on the ribbon.

    Select More Options to set a delivery delay.
  4. Under Delivery options, clear the Do not deliver before this date check box.
  5. Click Close and send.
